W6JKV & K5AND BBQ News Posted on 23/04/201501/04/2019 Howdy from Austin, TX…. So, we are at 147 days and counting till we get to gather here in Austin once again! Our special rate rooms at the brand new Sonesta Bee Cave hotel are going fast, so if you want to stay there, we’d encourage you to get moving. They have blocked off your choice of a single king or double queen room at $179/nite Group code: 0918VHFBBQ. The ladies event for Saturday morning is being coordinated by Sara Teel again and promises to be just as special as past events. Exhibitors need to get their reservations made fairly soon so we can plan spaces. High speed wireless connections to the Internet will be available again as in the past. Flea marketers should also check the box on the website so we’ll know how many spaces to block off. We need some presentations for our Saturday sessions, so please do send them to me so we can put them on the website and block off times. Dxpeditions, new products, new technologies, new antennas, propagation are all good subjects. Sure would be nice to have a K1N presentation from one of my buddies who was there, especially since some of the six meter contacts will be in attendance! “C’mon Man!” Like last year, we will once again provide free sandwiches for Friday lunch. Dinners both nites are the same as always: TexMex Friday nite and BBQ on Saturday. Remember, the only way we can keep an accurate headcount for food and drink is by your registration deposits; emails are nice, but they don’t really count for food planning. We could also use a few more “volunteers” for the margarita machine. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone in September! 73 Dick and Jimmy Views: 2,846 NEWS K5ANDW6JKV
