CY9 – St. Paul Island on 50MHz Posted on 13/08/201623/03/2025 From August 19 – 29, 2016, a large group will activate St. Paul Island, IOTA NA-094, as CY9C, on all bands with 2 operation site. The operators are: N0TG, K4ZLE, K5DHY, K8LEE, N8AA, VA3QR, WA4DAN, AA4NC, WW2DX, W2RE and N2IEN. The group will use Elecraft Transceivers and 500 Watt Amplifiers, 160 – 6m, SSB, CW, RTTY plus 2m EME and Satellite. Beams, Battlecreek Special (160), dedicated station for RTTY, Closely monitoring 12 – 10 – 6 meters for open band conditions. The CY9C dxpedition team is very busy with last minute details and packing. All equipment will begin the journey to take off point in Nova Scotia 13/14 August. They plan to be partially on the air on 19 August and fully operational 20 Aug. The home page of website has a link for those who desire to check the log. Log data will be posted LIVE. They will be using ClubLog and OQRS. Direct QSL via WA4DAN. Activating 60m for the first time from St. Paul is exciting for the team. And, while conditions will be a challenge for 160m, the team is energized to give it a serious effort. Also, be assured they will pay attention to the long and/or difficult propagation paths on all bands when conditions are workable.
